First pictures of Nina's new calf

Nina's calf is now up and about and chasing round the field. After being nudged around by all the others when first born Mum took him (yes we are sure it's a little bull calf) aside to have a rest. Both now recovered the calf is playing around with the herd, managing to get through the mud from so much rain (he's only about 40cm high !) and keeping Mum on her toes....but he soon gets worn out and needs a good sleep to regain his energy....

Snowdrops - and a new arrival with our cattle

The snow drops are amazing this year, big groups up our lane and in the garden. At the moment they have the drive to themselves as after a quick start the daffodils are yet to be in full glory along with the primroses, then wild garlic.
Our new arrival - we were woken this morning by our cattle announcing a new addition to our heard... Nina, our oldest Dexter cow gave birth early this morning, both are doing well but we are yet to be able to get close enough to see if it is a bull or heifer calf - we are waiting on the next one due any day. More details and a picture in our next entry along with news of our chickens that have just joined us at Tredarrup....
